YOUR DATA.
YOUR RIGHTS.
YOUR FUTURE._
Rewind is a community for teens who want to understand the digital world — protect your privacy, rethink how tech is made, and reconnect with the machines that started it all.
Learn how your data is collected, sold, and used — and how to take back control. Privacy isn't paranoia. It's power.
The best device is one that already exists. We champion repair, reuse, and e-waste reduction in a throwaway tech culture.
From ZX Spectrums to dial-up modems — retro experiences teach us how computing really works, and why it matters.
The Rewind Grant Award funds teens who are doing — or want to start — something meaningful in digital privacy, ethical tech, sustainability, or retrotech. We back the work and trust you to run with it.
No timelines, no check-ins, no deliverables. Each $250 award goes directly to the recipient to use however makes sense — equipment, materials, hosting, research, events, zines, whatever moves your project forward. We select 15 recipients across the 2026–2027 cycle and ask only that you share what you learned with the Rewind community when you're ready.
- Ages 13–19 anywhere in the world
- A project, idea, or interest in our mission areas
- No prior experience or credentials required
- Self-directed — you define the goal and the pace
STAY IN THE LOOP
The Rewind dispatch drops every two weeks — new articles, grant updates, retrotech finds, and digital rights news worth knowing about.
No tracking pixels. No third-party sharing. Just email, the old-fashioned way.
Rewind is a teen-led organization dedicated to digital privacy, ethical and sustainable technology, and retrotech education. We believe young people deserve to understand the systems that shape their lives — and to have the tools to push back when those systems don't serve them.
We're just getting started. If you want to get in touch, collaborate, or just say hello:
